Tales from the Dark Side!
Remember all the dark sites that were oober cool a few years ago?! They were awesome! They rocked! But is that still the case?
Aw c’mon, Lighten Up!
When it comes to web design today, with the popularity and necessity of blogs and blogging, it means you want more people to read what you have to say. Having a dark site with with white text is not the best way to promote your information. It’s hard to read.
Come to the Light!
Okay, getting way too cheesy…. I really do want you to take this seriously. Having a lighter themed site, using white and lighter colors with black or dark text can look more professional, and it can also have a more friendly and inviting feel to it. Black text on a white background is much easier to read than white text on a black background.
Test this out for yourself.
Take a look at other professional sites in your industry. What color schemes do you like? Which ones seem more effective to you?
I used to love dark sites, but not anymore. In most cases, a lighter, more open look and feel will be more impressive and more useable for your customers.
